Instructions

    • 1
Purchase wild animal guides. It's helpful to find a local expert or guide educated in local wildlife identification. Research an unfamiliar area if you aren't sure of which wild animals live in the area. Look for descriptions of wild animal behavior in the guide entries. Some guides may state to avoid animals at certain times such as mating season as aggression, and the danger factor increases.
    • 2
Remain aware of your surroundings. Know possible escape routes and any other possible physical dangers such as caves or fast-moving rivers. These places might bring in wild animals and are possible predator hunting grounds. Consider hunting predators dangerous because many wild animals consider you a potential rival.
    • 3
Know the potential of every wild animal being dangerous. Even normally docile creatures become dangerous if hurt or frightened. Treat all wild animals as potential dangers.
    • 4
Keep a safe distance from any wild animal. Refrain from damaging its territory especially if aggressive about defending its territory.
    • 5
Look for any obvious sign such as snorting, growling or other noise. Many animals give plenty of warning before they attack
